Have you seen the new Microsoft commercial with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates?  There’s been a lot of speculation as to what the ad is getting at. I’ve read, seen and heard the same opinion from every person, blog, or video I’ve encountered. Nothing but negative rubbish and condecending comments. Complaints about off topic conversation and the lack of product shots are all over. I personally love the new campaign. It envokes a level of empathy into the viewer by showing two of the greatest moguls of our time in an everyday situation. Adding simple humor (about nothing) and relateable conditions in order to provoke your body and mind into feeling good. It relates a product (Microsoft) with your endorphins without overloading the viewer with product shots and fast motion graphics. Brilliant. You’re obviously going to be fed with product specs and propaganda regarding the new Windows when the release get’s closer. So relax and be happy that this spot is more like a short film and less like an advertisement.

UPDATE: Microsoft is moving forward without Seinfeld on a 300 million dollar campaign. You’ve gotten what you wanted Public.
